UIE has a relatively small workforce, while the workforce represented through its investments is considerably larger. At United Plantations, employees work across plantations, mills, refineries and other operations, with many also living in communities connected to the estates.
This makes workforce matters an important part of UP’s approach to sustainability, encompassing working conditions, health and safety, employee welfare, human and labour rights, and opportunities for development.
